Connect an assistant
Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, and ChatGPT — the same steps, no API key to paste.

Postonus is an MCP server, so an AI assistant can list your channels, read your queue, and schedule posts. It cannot publish immediately — every write stages a scheduled post you can still change.
The dashboard has the same steps on the AI Assistants page, which also lists what you have already connected and how much each assistant is used.
Claude Desktop
- Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
- URL:
https://app.postonus.com/api/mcp - Claude opens a browser window. Sign in to Postonus and approve the connection.
- Ask it something: "What's in my Postonus queue this week?"
Cursor and ChatGPT connectors follow the same shape — point them at the same URL and approve in the browser. No API key to copy, and no config file to hand-edit.
What it can do
| Tool | Does |
|---|---|
list_channels | Your connected accounts and whether each one is healthy |
list_queue | Upcoming scheduled posts |
get_best_times | Recommended posting windows for a set of platforms |
schedule_post | Stages a scheduled post — never publishes on the spot |
reschedule_post | Moves an already-scheduled post |
It connects to your default workspace. To use a different one, change your default in Settings first. See Tools for exact arguments and refusals.
If it doesn't connect
- Nothing happens when you add the connector — check the URL has no trailing slash.
- "No default workspace" — your account has no default workspace set. Open the dashboard once and pick one.
- Scheduling fails with a quota message — you've hit your plan's monthly cap for that platform.
More failure modes, including expired grants and a client that lists no tools, are in Troubleshooting.
