If you run more than a handful of channels, the same combinations come up constantly — every brand account, or just the short-form video ones, or one client’s five. A channel group is that set, named and reusable, so composing does not start with a tick-box exercise.

- Removing a channel from a group changes what future posts target. Posts already scheduled keep the channels they were scheduled with.
The problem, precisely
With three channels, picking them manually is nothing. With fifteen, every compose session starts with a small clerical task, and clerical tasks done fifteen times a week get done wrong occasionally.
The wrong version is specific and unpleasant: a client's post going to your own brand account, or to another client's, because a tick box was in the wrong state. That is not a hypothetical — it is the normal consequence of asking a person to re-derive the same list repeatedly.
A group moves the decision to one place, made once, reviewed once.
Groups people actually make
- One per client. The obvious one for agencies, and the one that prevents cross-posting between clients.
- By format. The channels that take vertical video, versus the ones that take text.
- By audience. Everything in one language, or one region.
- Everything. A single group with all channels, for announcements.
A channel can sit in several groups at once, since a group is a saved selection rather than a container that owns the account.
What a group is not
It is not a permission boundary. Anyone who can post in the workspace can post to any group in it. If you need genuine separation between clients — separate channels, separate posts, separate members — that is what workspaces are for, and groups sit inside them.
It is also not a billing unit. Posting to a group of five channels creates five scheduled publishes and spends five against your monthly cap, exactly as selecting those five by hand would.
Changing a group's membership never touches posts that are already scheduled. They keep the channels they were created with, so a group edit cannot silently retarget next week's queue.

- What is a channel group?

- Can a channel be in more than one group?
Yes. A group is a saved selection, so the same account can belong to as many groups as make sense — for example, both "all brand accounts" and "short-form video".
- Does selecting a group lock my channel selection?
No. It fills in the selection, and you can add or remove channels afterwards for that one post without touching the group itself.
- What happens to scheduled posts if I change a group?
Nothing. Posts already scheduled keep the exact channels they were created with. A group change only affects posts you compose afterwards.
- Do groups work across workspaces?
No. A group belongs to one workspace, like every other piece of product data. An agency with a workspace per client creates the groups it needs inside each.
- Does posting to a group count as one post?
No — each channel in the group is its own scheduled publish and counts separately against your monthly cap. A group of five is five posts.
