Postonus vs Hootsuite. One has a $99 floor. The other does not.

The real trade-off: no entry-level tier

Hootsuite does not have a starter plan the way most schedulers do. The cheapest paid tier is $99 per month per seat, billed annually, for 10 accounts. There is nothing in the $20–40 range that a solo creator or small team could reach for. Postonus's Hobby plan is $12/month flat, covering 10 accounts for the whole workspace rather than per seat.

If you need multiple people with named seats and formal permission tiers, Hootsuite's structure might match how your org already buys software. If you are one person or a two-person team trying to schedule posts, the $99 floor is the whole story.

Worth naming an area where Hootsuite actually has the edge: its CSV bulk upload handles 350 posts per file, well past the 50-per-batch cap on Postonus. If you regularly schedule in batches that large, that is a real capacity difference, not a rounding error, even with everything else Hootsuite costs to reach.

Platform coverage: nine vs sixteen, and no Bluesky

Hootsuite covers 9 platforms. Postonus covers 16, and the gap that comes up most is Bluesky — Hootsuite's own integrations page does not list it, while Postonus does, alongside Reddit, Discord, Telegram, Tumblr, WhatsApp, and Snapchat. If your migration off X included moving an audience to Bluesky, that is worth checking before you commit to either tool.

Bulk scheduling and recycling

Hootsuite's bulk CSV upload handles 350 posts per file on paid plans — a large batch size, no argument there. What it does not have is evergreen recycling: reposting the same asset on a schedule is an open, unshipped request on Hootsuite's own feedback board as of this research. When Hootsuite is the better choice

If your company already has budget carved out for enterprise social tooling, and per-seat licensing with layered permissions is how your procurement process wants to buy software, Hootsuite is an established option built around exactly that. It is not the tool to reach for if cost per account is the thing you are optimizing.

What Postonus does not do

No analytics feature exists here — not a dashboard, not a lightweight report. If Hootsuite's reporting matters more to your workflow than price does, that is a legitimate reason to look at it instead. Postonus's Free workspace can build content and hold dated drafts, but cannot publish or schedule anything live without a paid plan; that gate is real, not a trial nag.

Developer surfaces

Hootsuite added official MCP connectors in June 2026 — which tier requires them has not been published, so do not assume it is included on an entry plan (there is no entry plan anyway). No CLI has been found for Hootsuite. Where this leaves the decision

Two questions decide it: does your organization need per-seat licensing badly enough to pay $99/mo per person, and does Bluesky matter to your platform mix. A yes to the first points at Hootsuite regardless of the rest of this page. A yes to the second rules Hootsuite out entirely, since it is not on their integrations list at all. Everyone else is comparing a $12/mo flat plan against a $99/mo seat, and that gap does most of the deciding on its own.
